Lorain County JVS is a cornerstone in our community and is a nearly 50-year old building that has been operating on the same millage since 1985. The current budget cannot accommodate the comprehensive facility upgrades that need to be made.
The needed upgrades to the nearly 50-year old building include:
• Reinforce the structure of the building
• Add safety systems to prevent unauthorized intrusions during the school day
• Add pipes and water access needed to install sprinkler systems for fire suppression
• Ensure there is enough functional classroom space to be able to continue to provide training to the thousands of students enrolled at the school, who come from every part of Lorain County
• Install climate systems and air handlers so the labs can continue to be safely used for training students
